Total Response Embraces the New Apprenticeship Levy
Total Response is once again demonstrating its commitment to increasing the number of skilled trades people in the county in 2017, partly due to the government’s new Apprenticeship Levy.
The way apprenticeships are supported is changing in April with the introduction of a levy that means that UK employers with a salary bill of over £3 million will be required to pay 0.5% of that into a levy. The government will then top-up this levy pot by 10%. The fund will then be ring fenced and can be used by employers to purchase training for apprentices. This will assist Total Response in increasing the number of Apprentices they employ.
Apprentices in the business include such trades as plumbing and heating and maintenance, currently employing 6 apprentices. In addition, the business provides valuable work experience for young people from local secondary schools over the Summer.
